Owie's Four!

Today our youngest grandson, Owie, is four years old!
Owen, here are some great balloons to help you celebrate!

Happy Birthday, Owen!
Which color do you like best of these balloons?

Flying down this big tube looks like fun!

Owen graduated from pre-school a few weeks ago.
His mom said he really enjoyed school!

Owen likes to run!

Just Owen!

Just last summer Owen and I had a really sweet bonding experience. He has grown up so much this year. I think this was the first time he and I had been together without Mom or Dad right there. So when he needed a little rest at the park he came over to me and let me hold him and snuggled right up. That was the first time and it made me so happy. I had held him other times but for just a few seconds. This was a nice long, I know you are my Gramma and you love me kind of a snuggle. Definitely made my day!

Banilla Cake for Owie!

This is what Mommy had to say about Owen:

*He just finished his first year of preschool and loved it! *He was fearless at his first ice skating lesson last week. *For his birthday dinner he said he wanted chips, lemonade and banilla (vanilla) cake. *He’s a great helper *He still has a limited number of things he will eat, claiming “he’ll eat (fill in the blank) when he’s bigger.”

This is what Daddy said about Owen:

Owen is an early riser. He loves to come up the stairs half asleep in the morning for his hugs. He is very cuddly when he is sleepy. When he is fully awake he spends most of his time trying to keep up with the big kids by being a big boy!

I love to talk to Owen on the phone because he really wants to talk. If he gets prompted to say good-bye and he is not done talking he will tell you. But when he's done, he's done!

Owen, we hope you have a very fun birthday and
get some fun presents! We love you very much and cannot wait to see you soon! We hope you got your chips for dinner!

All our love, Grampa and Gramma
XOXOXOXO and one to grow on XO

All About You!

Rossie cramming himself into the
grocery store car one last time!
Not really made for big kid 7-year-olds!

There are always just some fun random photos of the kids and their busyness playing and having fun. These are a bunch of photos posted by Laura daily on her My Life in Pictures blog and some that the other kids have sent electronically.

This is one of the most wonderful ways they can make Gramma and Grampa feel a part of the kids' lives. I am so thankful for digital cameras, scanners, and computers. They literally shrink the world to a manageable size. Oh and not to forget the telephones...They have saved us from dying of loneliness for these little people and their precious parents that we love more than life itself.
Spencer and Rossie~Italian Coolness

These grandkids are on the go. Spencer and Ross will be coming back to America to live on July 15th. Piper and Julia are going to Scotland on Tuesday. Connor, Anyslee, Zach and Owen are all in Oklahoma right now. The only two staying put are Chloe and Hazie! It sure is a different world they are growing up in compared to when we were kids. There is so much mobility and so many opportunities to be had. We love their parents for giving these little ones so many memories.

Owie

It seems so hard to imagine that Owen is getting so big so quickly! Chris and Missy had a fun BBQ on Memorial Day and I asked Aunt Jen to try for some photos. I think she did very well considering getting his picture taken is not one of Owen's favorite activities. He is always on the go! He is the cutest little guy and his eyes are bluer than this shirt he is wearing.

Holding and coaxing him to smile sometimes helps.
Daddy gives it a go!

Good job, Aunt Jen...there a tiny one!

I asked Missy to send a few things about Owen right now. Here is what she said....

"So, Owen.... *He's a super picky eater right now...consisting mostly on chocolate milk. dry cereal, goldfish, and graham crackers.

*He's still the most snuggly kid we've ever encountered. Almost daily (or nightly, depending on your perspective) he crawls into bed with us and snuggles close to me. He's like a little barnacle.

*He's at the age where he's talking so much
more and has the cute squeaky voice.

*He loves to hang out with his big brothers and sister!

*He loves to be outside.

*He's a good helper.

*He has no desire to be potty trained.

*We love him to pieces!"

How's this for cuteness?

Love the water droplets in this photo!
And the Orange!
But mostly the little boy!

Have a wonderful, Happy Day, Owen!
Grampa and I love you very much
and wish we could play catch with your ball
and have cake with you today!
XOXOXO XO
