Aynslee Loses # 3~With Some Help From Aunt Missy!

Aynslee lost her 3rd tooth on Monday with an accidental assist from Mom. My finger nicked her front tooth, knocking it out. Oops! Ayns was calm and collected (insert laugh here) as she spit her bloody tooth out and we cleaned up her mouth. She's been very excited ever since to tell everyone that Mom knocked out her tooth.

Cousin Euphoria

From the desk of Aunt Jen,

"Truth be told I loath the sleepover but they love it so much I can't seem to say no. Here's why:

I'm not sure I've seen a happier face on Julia or Aynslee! They spent the first half hour of their sleepover making the following schedule...translation to follow.

Double Click

The Translation of the Schedule:
1. Get PJ's on
2. High School Musical Karaoke (singing)
3. Blindfolded Makeovers (I thought this meant that the one getting madeover couldn't see them selves until the makeover was done but I guess it really means that the one giving the makeover is blindfolded and just slobs make up all over your face without looking....fun!)
4. Get ready for *GPSS Sleepover
5. Brush Hair
6. Teeth (buckies) (Grampa Jim calls 'brushing your' teeth,'brushing your buckies' and Julia has adopted this as her own.)
7. Stories
8. Talk about R-a-n-s-o-m (boys) (Ransom is a boy that Julia has had a crush on for almost 2 years...yikes.)
9. Funny Shows
10. Fashion Shows"

Zachie Does Soccer~by Aunt Missy

Zach Far Left

Zach Kicks It!

Here's Zach at his first soccer practice. He was uncertain at first (notice his hands in his pockets-he even kicked that way initially) but soon really got into it. He's super excited for his upcoming games and we can't wait to see him zoom around the little field!

Pork Chops Anyone?

In a zoo in California , a mother tiger gave birth to a rare set of triplet tiger cubs. Unfortunately, due to complications in the pregnancy, the cubs were born prematurely and due to their tiny size, they died shortly after birth.

The mother tiger after recovering from the delivery, suddenly started to decline in health, although physically she was fine. The veterinarians felt that the loss of her litter had caused the tigress to fall into a depression. The doctors decided that if the tigress could surrogate another mother's cubs, perhaps she would improve.

After checking with many other zoos across the country, the depressing news was that there were no tiger cubs of the right age to introduce to the mourning mother. The veterinarians decided to try something that had never been tried in a zoo environment. Sometimes a mother of one species will take on the care of a different species. The only "orphans" that could be found quickly, were a litter of weanling pigs. The zoo keepers and vets wrapped the piglets in tiger skin and placed the babies around the mother tiger. Would they become cubs or pork chops??

Take a look...

You can double click on the pictures to make them bigger. This is just another example of how we can all help each other and get along happily together. Grampa and I thought they were all very cute. How about you? We can learn some great lessons from the animal kingdom, don't you think?

Making Good Choices

One of my friends posted this on his blog and I thought immediately of all of you and how I wanted you to see this little story. Some of you may not know that President Hinckley was the great great uncle of Spencer and Ross. His father was their great great grandfather. He is the one who told President Hinckley this little story.

After you watch it, maybe you can tell your mom and dad what you learned. And maybe you can even make a comment back to me about it. I hope you like it!

Aunt Jen Shares Some Fun Photos of Hazel

Never get between a girl and her cupcake!

Happy Birthday, Miss Piper!

Happy Birthday Piper! Wish we were there to party with you!

Piper is entering the double digit age today, turning ten years old! It does not seem possible that we have been grandparents that long and yet, I cannot remember life without her.

Piper is such a beautiful young lady. She is so sweet and funny and smart, smart, smart. She has amazing talents in her academics and her art. She is such a wonderful daughter and granddaughter and a great big sister to Julia, Chloe and Hazel. And she is a great cousin too!

Just recently she has been enjoying the Jonas Brothers movie and working on a genealogy project about her great great grandmother, Marguerite Ferrera. She did an excellent job on her science project and got to present it to all the fourth grade classes. Here she is in deep concentration over it all.

Piper is beautiful, tall and graceful but not feeling
so tall in this photo I am sure. Fun animals!

She shares a birthday with Grampa Jim's Dad, Grampa Fred who passed away in 1990. I am sure they would have been very close, they have many wonderful qualities in common. Piper hopes to get back to Scotland where she was born someday. Born in the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, she is a genuine Scottish Princess!

To show you how grown up she is, your Aunt Jen told me she decided to forgo a big friends party for some extra spending money on a trip to the mall with mom on Saturday. I wish I could join you guys for that trip! Love shopping with you! Have some Cake, Piper and a wonderful celebration!

We love you and wish you a fantastic birthday today!

Love,

Gramma and Grampa XOXO

Did You Know Juice Boxes Have Ears?

This blog had this great tip...You know how sometimes a juice box will spit at you and get juice on your clothes? Well if you hold it by its ears it won't do that! Try it! No more messes!

Here is the juice box with its "ears" out.
Pretty Cool, huh?

Want To See What a Trillion Dollars Looks Like?

One TRILLION dollars...From Fox New Network
I thought the big kids would like this~especially Ross who loves big numbers.

"We'll start with a $100 dollar bill. Currently the largest U.S. denomination in general circulation. Most everyone has seen them, slightly fewer have owned them. Guaranteed to make friends wherever they go.

A packet of one hundred $100 bills is less than 1/2" thick and contains $10,000. Fits in your pocket easily and is more than enough for week or two of shamefully decadent fun.

Believe it or not, this next little pile is $1 million dollars (100 packets of $10,000). You could stuff that into a grocery bag and walk around with it.

While a measly $1 million looked a little unimpressive, $100 million is a little more respectable. It fits neatly on a standard pallet...

And $1 BILLION dollars... now we're really getting somewhere...

Next we'll look at ONE TRILLION dollars. This is that number we've been hearing so much about. What is a trillion dollars? Well, it's a million million. It's a thousand billion. It's a one followed by 12 zeros.

You ready for this?

It's pretty surprising.

Go ahead...

Scroll down...Girls and Boys... I give you $1 trillion dollars...(oh, how I do wish I really could!)

See the tiny man in the left hand corner? (And notice those pallets are double stacked.)

So the next time you hear someone toss around the phrase "trillion dollars"... that's what they're talking about and now you know what it looks like."

And that is how much we love you "times infinity"

as Spencer and Rossie would say!

Best Friends

The video you can see here is really neat. It can teach us that we do not have to be exactly like someone to be their friend. It helps us to understand that we can find peace by being kind to everyone and building a friendship on trust and acceptance. I hope you enjoy it! Do you have friends that are different than you? Grampa and I hope so! Jesus asks us to love everyone. He knows that will bring great happiness to others as well as to us.
